Over the past few months people have been increasingly finding that being confined within the home for such extended periods of time can be challenging for elderly relatives or a partner or child with reduced mobility. With no real certainty of when lockdown might end, the importance of staying safe in the home could not be any more paramount then it is right now.

For those who are less mobile or live with someone who has a mobility issue, this can cause safety and accessibility difficulties in the home. With people house bound for extended periods, the possibility of slips, trips and falls on the stairs is ever increasing. Social distancing restrictions mean some individuals may be isolated indoors for long periods of time without assistance to help them safely move between floors.

Following guidance of the BHTA – The British Healthcare Trades Association – of which we are a member, Stiltz Home Lifts have been working hard to maintain levels of service and care to existing customers while being in a position to help with urgent installations for those who would otherwise be at risk from using the stairs.

Following a recent such installation, the Stiltz Team received this lovely message, “My husband and I just want to pass on our sincere thanks to your company and particularly to your two installers Stuart and John, for completing the installation of our lift – against time and restrictions during this Coronavirus lockdown. They were excellent – always considerate of our safety, courteous, hardworking and determined to get the job done. My husband is thrilled with the lift and it is making a big different to his daily life.”

Throughout the lockdown period, Stiltz Home Lifts have been and will continue to adhere to the guidelines as outlined by the government. For more information on our COVID19 response and processes, please click here to read our full statement.
