Parkinson’s Awareness Week is an annual opportunity for individuals who have Parkinson’s and those who support them to connect, learn and get inspired by others.

Parkinson’s Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of the condition, change the public’s attitude towards the condition, raise funds for vital research and raise awareness of both the support and services available to anyone affected.

Individuals with Parkinson’s often find mobility and safety around the home can become a problem as the condition progresses, specifically around the stairs. There is a range of different services and options available to those affected, including a home adaptation.

Stiltz Home Lift is a safe and easy way for individuals to travel between the floors of their home. A domestic lift can help senior individuals to stay in the home they love for longer. All Stiltz Home Lifts come with a range of safety features as standard and have some optional extras, including an In-car seat, interior grab rails and bespoke lining finishes (such as additional in-car padding).

With their unique footprints and unrivalled ability to fit into almost any home, domestic lifts are considered a safer alternative to the traditional stairlift and can provide extra help when moving around the house.

Stiltz Home Lifts are proud to support Parkinson’s Awareness Week and to share a comment from our Customer Mrs Lees who has Parkinson’s:

“Love my lift. Have shown it to several friends, and two fellow Parkinsons have already had Stiltz domestic lifts installed as a result. The domestic lift has made all of our lives so much easier, from doing the washing to going on holiday. Even our little dog uses it to come down with me.”
