Stiltz Home Lifts has made Dolphin Lifts Midlands a Stiltz Home Lift Premier Partner after installing their first domestic lift in a property in Worcestershire.
The West Bromwich company, which was founded in 2007, has made a splash by achieving the highest level in the company’s three-tier dealer programme.
New customer Stephen Kimberley called on the company after having to be rescued from his stairlift by the fire brigade when he became stuck on it for the third time in a week at his home in Bromsgrove.
The pensioner was travelling downwards when the mechanical device ground to a halt and after having moved just four steps from the top of the stairs.
Mr Kimberley shouted for help in the hope one of his neighbours would hear him before using his mobile phone which he had in his pocket to call his sister, Pamela, who lives nearby. She rang the emergency services who were able to rescue him within minutes.
The former assembly worker is asthmatic, suffers from angina and has had two knee replacement operations. Mr Kimberley lives alone and has resided in the property his whole life, after buying it from his parents. He had the stairlift installed three years ago as climbing the stairs was leaving him breathless.
