Stiltz Home Lifts are delighted to share that we are working in partnership with AquAid and The Africa Trust.
Through our unique relationship with AquAid, we at Stiltz Home Lifts have the opportunity to help those less fortunate than us. With each purchase from AquAid, a donation is made to The Africa Trust.
The Africa Trust was founded in 2010 with the aim of bringing sustainable solutions for clean water and decent sanitation to those in poverty. The charity’s life changing work allows unique sustainable solutions to be built, such as The Elephant Pump and The Elephant Toilet.
The Elephant Pump is a modified version of a nearly 2,000 year old Chinese rope pulley system. Each pump is made using locally sourced materials such as bricks, concrete, rope and metal, meaning the construction costs are kept as low as possible with additional money going into the local area. This rope pulley system allows the pump to go 30 metres deep (with the well reaching much deeper) and extract nearly 60 litres of fresh water per minute.
To date, AquAid and The Africa Trust have installed over 8,000 pumps across Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and it will be a much-needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many.
Stiltz Home Lifts Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer Lachlan Faulkner said, “As a business who works across nearly 40 countries, including some parts of East Africa, we feel it is important to help those in need. We often take for granted our ability to access clean, fresh water so we are delighted to be able to fund such an important facility.”
