COVID 19 Statement

Coronavirus – Covid-19 presents us with an unprecedented global challenge. Stiltz Ltd. continues to review activities on a daily basis to comply with Government directives.

Stiltz is a proud member of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) through whom we are co-ordinating industry efforts to keep the most vulnerable living safely in their own homes. Reducing the instance of accidents within the home will help reduce stress on the NHS hospital care system.

For existing customers, a Stiltz Homelift can be that lifeline to independence. Our homecare support policy means Stiltz engineers continue to provide an essential service by maintaining customers’ lifts for ongoing safe, reliable and independent access, while acting within Government guidelines.

For new homelift installations we offer the options of a phone call, remote video consultation via tablet/laptop/smartphone, or email consultation. For those with an urgent in-home consultation need, we will minimise risk by following latest Government guidelines.

Additional processes have been put in place to mitigate risk to you, our staff and the wider Stiltz community:

· We will request confirmation that nobody at the property we are due to visit has Covid-19 or is defined as extremely vulnerable, and in need of being shielded. If Covid-19 is present, or a person is isolating or deemed as extremely vulnerable, we will follow government advice.

· All customer visits will be subject to additional sanitation measures. Stiltz installers/engineers will wash or sanitise their hands prior to entering your property and upon leaving. They will not offer to shake hands, will refuse offers of a beverage and will maintain the prescribed 2 metre distance

· Regular health and safety bulletins will be issued to all office and field-based staff

· All field-based staff will be asked, on a daily basis, to confirm they are clear of symptoms prior to commencing their working day

· All staff who fall ill with Covid-19 or who are self-isolating, will receive full pay during the period they are indisposed.

Stiltz will follow government advice at all times. Our priority is customer and staff safety, whilst continuing to provide the necessary homecare support to ensure vital independence.

Providing a high definition virtual showroom, multi-award winning Stiltz Home Lifts is supporting vulnerable clients with the latest video technology through its hi-tech South African business partner.

Stiltz manufactures one of the world’s most compact and unique contemporary home lifts – an elegant alternative to traditional through-floor lifts and stairlifts. When stairs become unsafe to use or disability dictates inaccessibility, a home lift delivers independence and safety between floors – strengthening mental health and wellbeing. With the current pandemic highlighting the advantages of living at home without the need for care, many more individuals are seeking a homelift. Hence Stiltz has introduced live 4k video product demonstrations to complement its home assessments by trusted assessors. To provide fast, barrier free video conferencing, this technology is built-into the Stiltz websites – hence connection does not require third party software such as Zoom or Teams. This service also provides a contactless option for clients who prefer not to receive a home visit while deciding whether a homelift is right for them.

Through its international strength, Stiltz has been able to swiftly roll out the latest video consultation technology to support consumers, carers and healthcare professionals. This service is being delivered in the UK through Lifta, a business partner of Stiltz based in Cape Town, South Africa. Lifta, whose German-based head office piloted its video services two years ago, have found it to be particularly beneficial when presenting homelifts to potential customers in Germany. The technology is robust and reliable with high definition video consultations, from 10 professional studios, broadcasting with less than one millisecond of delay across the world. Multiple cameras provide different angles to view products with an impressive 250x zoom – allowing micro details to be clearly distinguished.

Potential clients and healthcare professionals simply access Stiltz video demonstrations through a bespoke link which is emailed in advance of an appointment. By clicking this link, clients are visually connected face-to-face on their phone, laptop or tablet, with a friendly advisor without the need to download any apps. The call is then transferred to a Stiltz studio where homelifts are demonstrated by a product specialist. Each room includes an ingenious variable height floor so the action of a homelift can be simulated. The service is fully interactive and there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
